I have had good results giving Quercetin and Bromelain to my dogs who have been chewing their paws. I also give it to my daughter who, in the past, has required nose spray and Clairatin daily.

I will try these. Also, something to think about...buy liquid tablets of Omega 3 and squeeze it in your dog's food. This has helped Remy's skin develop a better protective layer on his skin and he has been licking his paws less this last year. I also switched him over to a herringbone/potato dog food and I give him bottled water free of chemicals. All of these things has also helped with his rusty eye drainage :) The Vet suggested doing these things and I am convinced these little changes helped him a lot.

I give my boys camelina oil and sometimes coconut oil. My boys eat Taste of the Wild with Honest Kitchen in the morning and raw at night. Previously they had been on strictly raw. It got pretty expensive feeding only raw. So far, no problem with the Taste of the Wild. Gary had some real problems with Canine Caviar. I have some Omega 3 and I will give it a try.

I also give the Quercetin and Bromelain to my husband and daughters and it has helped cut down on the use of the prescribed nose spray.

Where do you get Quercetin and Bromelain? I have 1000 mg. liquid tablets of Omega 3 at home. I give half to each of my dogs- (approximately 6 drips each). A whole tablet gives them diareah, 1/2 tablet has been fine for the last year. Later, I'd like to talk to you about feeding raw. I have thought about this but can't really find enough good information on the Internet about it.

I got it at the Vitamin Shoppe in Geneva. There are places you can get it for less online.

There is a good book "Give Your Dog A Bone" that I read before starting raw. It was about 7-8 years ago. I have seen the book at Wet Nose.
